In fact, if you find a friend not using any of the popular social networking services, it seems strange. Students can collaborate with their peers to improve their academic proficiency and communication skills. But every medal has its own reverse. So, there are some cons of using the social networking sites too i.e boon also carries with it a bane. Social Networking has been spreading some falsified and fabricated news and information also. This has led to many conflicts and untoward incidents. It has led to spread of hatred and mistrust among people.

Revealing personal information on social sites can make users vulnerable to crimes like identity theft, stalking, etc. Also, unscrupulous people can target you for cyber bullying and harassment on social sites. School children, young girls, and women can fall prey to online attacks which can create tension and distress.Kids can be greatly affected by these social networking sites if they are allowed to use them. One of the negative effect of social media or network is it leads to addiction. Social Networking Spending countless hours on the social sites can divert the focus and attention from a particular task.

The experts are suggesting that using of social networking is not wrong but the way it is being used is important. Students and youngsters must be given guidance on what should be the dos and do not’s. Also, the students must be educated on the overall developmental activities instead of getting glued to the mobile phones and computers and spending precious time chatting. Students from their end must take initiative to find out how best such sites can be used. So folks, wake up and use technology as a boon and not a bane.
