The tourists are advised not to go in the fort after sunset. It is said that whoever goes into the fort after sunset, never returns back.

Bhangarh Fort is a famous story which narrates the reason behind it being haunted. It is said that there was a wizard, Singhia, lived in the fort who felt in love with the princess, Ratnavati, of the palace. One day when Princess came for shopping and was buying the scent, the wizard replaced the scent with the love potion so that as soon as she uses the potion she fell in love with him, get attracted towards him and marry him. But princess came to know about his trickery and threw the potion on a boulder nearby. As a result, the Boulder got attracted towards him, rolled towards him and crushed him.

But before dying he cursed that the fort would be destroyed soon and since then the people started dying and ultimately the fort become vacant. It is believed that the spirits of princess and wizard are there in the fort.

The guards have seen the spirits and heard the music coming from the fort at midnight. That is the reason behind the name of this fort as “Dancer’s Haveli”.

Some tourists said that they have seen the ghosts and heard the music too. There is one incident in which a boy decided to stay in the fort at night, but was seen committing suicide by the villagers and tried to rescue him but on the way of taking him to the hospital the car met with an accident and all three people died on the spot.
