Aunty 72 – Runner up in Pink marathon

Q. Please introduce yourself in brief.
A. I am Primla Hingorani, popularly known as Aunty 72 (born on 12th August 1945). I have always been fond of sports, especially running and I only realize it now that it has been a blessing in disguise. I am passionate about eating and it shows on my health which has been great with the grace of God. Rather than sitting at home and watching TV serials or engaging in gossip, I prefer to be outdoors and connect with the world around me. From a young age, only I was into sports especially running.

Q. Share us something about your fitness activities? 
A. I begin my day early with an aerobics class. Then I head home for an energy drink. After that, I head out to do three to four kilometres of brisk walking or jogging.
As of December 31st, 2016, I had logged 500 km in 100 days through running, jogging and walking.
And yes I am  72 years old.

Q.What is your start-up story.
I had completed Science Graduate, born on 12 August 1945. From a young age, my passion for Running & Sports has been Blessings for my Good Health. After my 3 Children became Independent, I joined Aerobics, Dance, Swimming to keep my bones active & to continue being healthy. I continue my 3 km brisk walk daily. but I don’t overstretch at any time. I started participating in many marathons. My target being finish line and not podium finish as I was not trained for that.

Since my health permitted I got involved in few NGOs for the education of underprivileged. Also Swatch Bharat Abhiyan. Asha Kiran Charitable Trust is close to my heart as I am with them from last +20 yrs. M.A.D foundation, Rajani Foundation, Beaches Cleanathon, River project, Chal Rang De being few more. I am grateful to Kumar Bhat sir founder of Aerobics Centre who has always encouraged me, His experience has helped so many young & old.

Pinkathon is the group founded by Milind Soman. Their first Marathon in Mumbai was in 2012. I happen to meet Milind Soman during promo run of Marathon 2014. I was Mesmerised by his charm, Humble Nature & Simplicity. I knew about the objective of Pinkathon i.e Awareness of Breast Cancer & Healthy lifestyle for women. When I met Ajit Pathak and Sharmila Munj Front Ambassadors I got totally involved with the cause & soon became Ambassador with few more. Who were bringing ladies forward for health awareness That is towards Healthy India.

Pinkathon invites cancer conquerors, physically handicapped on a wheelchair, Visually impaired to participate in Marathons after giving them due training and practice. Also, mothers with babies in arms are encouraged to participate in Marathons. Kumar Bhatt & Ajit Pathak, I bow down to there for selfless working for Healthy India.

Q. You had Achieve a lot in your life. Share something with us? 
A. Finally a few points about my Achievements which are not Big – Featured in Google & Youtube as Aunty 72. – Invited by Beyhad Zindagi of Aditya Birla Group and 10 mints video uploaded on Google & You-tube – Featured in many Website pages like Better India, Humans of Bombay, Senior Express in interviewed by newspapers like DNA, Mid-day & Radio FM 106.4 in 2017. – Was a speaker at TEDx Ulsoor Bangalore at the invitation of Dr Dimple Devdas from London – Was felicitated by Lokhandwala Mahila Mandal for my Contribution in sports & social work in 2016. – Was one of few senior students of Shiamak to have danced with Salman Khan for Filmfare Awards in 2016. – Also received Shiamak Trophy from the hands of Mr Shiamak in 2017. – Since I have participated in the Mumbai Marathon from 1 st the year 2004 till 2018 my 2 Big posters were displayed at BKC Expo 2018. – Got a fitness Trophy from Hastakshar Group on 6 th April 2018. – Received Appreciation Memento from Women Respect foundation on 12th April 2018. – I was one of 5 Amazing Indians who Inspired many as posted along with my Video by Huffington post last year in February 2017. Lastly, in today’s Botox Age, I flaunt my Grey Hair & wrinkles with Dignity. I strongly Believe that every living being from Ant to Elephant has to face problems in their lifespan.

Q. Do you believe in Destiny or not? If yes then why? 

A. I believe in “Destiny”. Anything can happen to anyone at any time. Could be Natural Calamity or personal tragedy. Always be prepared. Never Give up Attitude has helped me going ahead in Life with a Smile.
