Arundhati turned out to be the watershed moment of Anushka Shetty’s career. Arundhati was a huge hit across South India.
Directed by Kodi Ramakrishna, the film stars Sonu Sood, Sayaji Shinde and Arjan Bajwa in important roles. After the success of Arundhati, Anushka turned out to be a sought-after heroine in both Tamil and Telugu film industries.
Anushka fit perfectly in the role of the warrior queen and was hailed for her performance. However, it is now revealed that Anushka was not the first choice of the makers when they started the project.
In a report on an entertainment website, it is said that director Kodi Ramakrishnan first approached Lakshmi Manchu for the role but she turned it down. Later, Anushka came on board for the film.
The career of Lakshmi Manchu, who is now doing supporting roles, might have seen a drastic change had she had given her green signal to Arundhati.
Anushka is currently part of Madhavan’s yet-unititled film, which will go on floors soon.
