Reappointed in rank of cabinet minister is Modi’s two top aides, Nripendra Misra and PK Mishra

The government announced on Tuesday that principal secretary Nripendra Misra and additional principal secretary Pramod Kumar Misra will continue in their positions in the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), which sees no major administrative change at the top-most administrative level.

The two officers have been given Cabinet ranks, similar to the other top adviser to Prime Minister Narendra Modi — National Security Advisor Ajit Doval.

Nripendra Misra’s expertise in economy and delivery, PK Misra’s management of key bureaucratic appointments, and Doval’s handling of national security are expected to be the core strengths of the PMO.
